I reckon programming is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Once you start to
get familiar with the constructs and idioms of a particular language
your computational imagination begins to `tune in' to that language. You
then find that doing the sorts of things you want to do is HARD in every
other language except the one you are using. You start making a nuisance
of yourself trying to WAKE PEOPLE UP to this obvious fact. But of
course, they're all tuned in to some other language so they don't even
want to do the same things. They literally can't imagine doing them.

What this means is that programming Holy Wars are always a waste of
time. You just have to live and let live.
