Subject:Ved Backup Directory
From:John Duncan

Hi,

Does anyone know a way to set a separate directory for
the backup files that Ved creates ?

I know that backups can be turned off but I don't want to
do that. I have started to use Ved as editor for Mutt and Slrn
but the backup versions of the temporary files from Mutt tend
to clobber my $HOME directory.

Purging works fairly well but I don't always want to purge
these files straight away. If as I suspect ( I have had a fair
look at the docs ) there is no user variable for this, I suppose
I could look at backupdir.el from Emacs to see how they handle
this and see if a similar thing could be plugged into Ved unless
this is hard-coded into Ved.

                                 All the best,

                                      John Duncan
