Alas, you can only load a saved image on top of another saved image
if you built the second one on top of the first.
Instead of
> pop11 \%nort mkimage -subsystem lisp lp1.psv loadlp1.p
> pop11 \%nort mkimage -subsystem lisp engine.psv loadengine.p
Try
pop11 \%nort mkimage -subsystem lisp lp1.psv loadlp1.p
as before followed by
pop11 +lp1 \%nort mkimage -subsystem lisp engine.psv loadengine.p
Then you can run
pop11 +lp1
or
pop11 +lp1 +engine
(which is nowadays equivalent to pop11 +engine, as the saved image
remembers what it was layered on).
But you will then not be able to do
pop11 +engine
If you want all three combinations (lp1, or engine, or lp1+engine)
then you'll have to make three saved images.
You MAY be able to avoid this if you use syssaveincr and later
use sysrestoreincr but it is unreliable and "deprecated", according
to REF SYSTEM !
