The PWM documentation is no longer distributed with Poplog.
However, you can browse these directories:
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/poplog/src/master/C.pwm/help/
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/poplog/src/master/C.pwm/ref/
The pwm was an excellent piece of work done many years ago by Ben
Rubinstein, ahead of its time.... Much of the useful functionality
for Pop-11 programmers was lost when Poplog replaced PWM with the X
window mechanisms, which are far more general but far more low level
and harder to use if you are not very familiar with X.
I've tried to produce something as easy to program as the PWM was
(or easier in some cases, since we now have objectclass) based on
the Poplog X stuff, in the rclib and rcmenu packages:
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/poplog/rclib/
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/poplog/rclib.tar.gz
and
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/poplog/rcmenu/
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/poplog/rcmenu.tar.gz
If you fetch and try out the rclib stuff, you can get a brief tour
of the main facilities by working through
rclib/teach/rclib_demo.p
The most powerful component, for building automatically formatted
control panels, is rc_control_panel.
Some of the image manipulating facilities in David Young's popvision
library will also be useful (though at present they work only if you
start X up in 8 bit mode because they use colour maps):

If you produce something you'd like to make generally available via
the FreePoplog library, or pointed to therein, let me know.
