Subject:Re: Math in PLOG?

Lee,

I don't have time to answer your specific question (and I am not a
prolog user), but should point out that if your To: line emailed to
pop-forum has anything outside the angle brackets, like this:

	To: "pop-forum@cs.bham.ac.uk" <pop-forum@cs.bham.ac.uk>

it will not get through the mail-> news gateway. That's why a
lot of Steve's messages had to be forwarded by me to comp.lang.pop

I hope this will be fixed eventually.

Regarding your request for help:

If you have started up poplog prolog, you may find these
help files give you useful tips:

	HELP PROLOG_LANGUAGE
Predicates and library package for switching between Prolog and
    	POP-11.

shows how to switch to pop-11, define a pop-11 procedure, switch back
to prolog, and call the pop-11 procedure from prolog.

	HELP MIXED_LANGUAGES
Overview of methods of interfacing Prolog and other languages.

	HELP PLOGTOPOP
How to call POP-11 from Prolog.

In case you have not found this, the following command in VED, when
you are running prolog

	ENTER help plogindex

Should give you a complete list of over 200 available help files for
poplog prolog. It's advisable to try to learn your way around them.

You can give the command to get a prolog help file as follows when
running ved from pop-11, or lisp, or pml:
	ENTER prolog help plogindex

If the examples in the help files don't work in on a PC running windows,
I can only suggest installing linux. Sorry. There may be a problem with
search lists.

As the pcwin poplog documentation says: it was developed to run on NT
(presumably to support clementine), and some things will not work on
windows95/98. I guess nobody knows which things will and which will not.
