Apologies for not responding sooner. I have been away at a
conference, and have been very slow catching up since my return.

Poplog has been run on linux alpha, which I believe was used by John
Gibson to fix linux poplog, shortly before he retired.
Unfortunately I don't have access to a set of binaries, though all
the sources for both alpha+digital unix and alpha+linux are included
(as far as I know) in the pop/src directory in the alpha-unix poplog
system available from here:
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/poplog/new/alphaunix-15.53.tar.gz
or
ftp://ftp.cs.bham.ac.uk/pub/dist/poplog/new/alphaunix-15.53.tar.gz
That file is about 15.8 Mbytes in size.
If you have an alpha plus digital unix you could fetch and install
that version of alpha poplog and use it to generate a linux alpha
version. (It involves using the special tools provided to create
a large number of assembler files which then get copied across,
assembled on the new machine and linked).
I have never done this, but some other readers of comp.lang.pop have
done similar things, and may be able to provide help or advice if
you get stuck.
Porting instructions (far from perfect) are in the files in
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/poplog/sysdoc/
also available packaged in this file:
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/poplog/sysdoc.tar.gz
or
ftp://ftp.cs.bham.ac.uk/pub/dist/poplog/sysdoc.tar.gz
Just over 70 Kbytes
You might wish to fetch that and read the stuff in it before
deciding whether you wish to have a go.
If you manage to do it, please keep notes on any problems you have
to overcome so that they can be added to the sysdoc directory
later.
Also, if you can then produce a file with the binaries I'll be happy
to install it in the free poplog directory.
It should run very fast on the latest alphas, with full 64 bit
addressing, etc.
Thanks.
Aaron
