Think of a Lisp-like language with a syntax more like Pascal.

You can get a partial answer by exploring the following

	http://www.cogs.susx.ac.uk/users/adrianh/pop11.html
        Overview of Pop-11
	http://www.cogs.susx.ac.uk/users/adrianh/poplog.html
        Overview of Poplog

    ftp://ftp.cs.bham.ac.uk/pub/dist/poplog/
        This contains
            teach/primer
text version of a Pop-11 primer
            primer.Z
compressed version of plain text primer
            primer.ps.Z
postscript version for printing the primer on
                    252 (approx) A4 pages
            primer_2page.ps.Z
postscript version for printing two pages per sheet
on about 126 (approx) A4 pages

The README file gives more information.

The teach/ subdirectory includes a lot of stuff used for
        teaching AI in Pop-11

The prb/ and sim/ sub-directories contain stuff for an agent
        simulation toolkit in pop-11.

The file teach/pop11.evolution gives an account of the
history of Pop-11, which developed out of the Edinburgh AI
        language, Pop-2.

I hope that helps.
