Subject:Poplog on Linux

I've been trying to get Poplog on Linux to work a bit better for quite a
while, and I've come up with a package that (I think) should solve most of
the major problems for RH6.x useres - e.g. setting up environment
variables, etc.

It's been written for newbies, so decisions I've made haven't had the
experienced in mind (e.g. setting up environment variables is postponed as
long as possible, so as not to scare people reading a HOWTO that says 'now
type env')

I really need three things at this point:
a) a few people to volunteer as guinea pigs, preferably installing this
alongside a clean Poplog install, and telling me what does/doesn't
   work, and what is/isn't useful.
b) Someone to tell me what the prolog/lisp/pml is for
   'trycompile('~/Poplib/init.p'), as I don't speak a word of the
languages, and need to add them into the standard init scripts.
c) Someone to have a look through it all and tell me what the equivalent
commands are on different distributions of Linux (e.g. Debian). I've
no experience of using anything but RH, so I've not been able to design
   for them.

The tarball is

and the readme file is

Any comments gratefully received!
