I don't know, but I can guess:

"vedi Napoli, e poi muori" - use ved in Naples, and die.

"veni, vedi, vici" - I came, I used ved, and I concurred to go away again.

Really, we should be more spiritually aware. It's all in the language. Or
in the editor, I should say. How about adopting the following terminology?

"Vedist" - a user of ved, one learned in ved.

"Vedic" - ved-like, characteristic of ved.

and so on, for Veda, Vedanta, Vedism, etc.

And we should get the etymology right: "ved" comes from the Sanskrit "veda",
meaning "knowledge". (One of my students said in an exam that it meant
"visual editor"! The students out here are really bad.)

Please try to use the proper terminology. I'm not in favour of a French
Academy, but I do think we should introduce a bit of discipline to prevent
further deterioration. "vedette", for instance, is a stage or film star, not
a user of ved who is a nymphomaniac. "Vedda" (to be distinguished from "Veda")
is a dark-skinned, curly-haired Ceylonese aboriginal.
