I'm doing the same: fetching teach files for my own library.
Yes, they are excellent tuition, independantly of the use of pop-11.
I don't want to fetch massive *tgz files, most of which I'm not sure
that I won't use, so the directories need to be well organised
(keep a local copy) and just fetch the files incrementally as you
progress.  eg. a read /semnet1  which continued to /semnet2
which refers to TEACH LONDON (I think), which I can't find in my
locally kept directory-listings.

The ability to progress incrementally, without committing to
massive downloads (I'm trapped in degenerating Africa, with a slow
inet connection) will allow more people to join pop-11.
