Jorge,

You can try in your .Xdefaults things like this

Poplog*Font: -adobe-helvetica-bold-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-p-*-*-*
Poplog*labelFontList: -adobe-helvetica-bold-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-p-*-*-*
Poplog*buttonFontList: -adobe-helvetica-bold-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-p-*-*-*
Poplog*textFontList: -b&h-lucidatypewriter-bold-r-normal-*-15-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
Poplog*defaultFontList: -b&h-lucidatypewriter-bold-r-normal-*-15-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

I have just copied over to Sussex the latest version of my alternative
to propsheet, to which I have now added sliders (not yet text fields
into which you can type, since readline can be used for input in a
ved buffer, and not yet scrolling text windows).

This is generally far more controllable and flexible than propsheet.

E.g. you can specify a list of information strings to be associated
with end1 and or end2 of a slider, and sliders don't have to be vertical
or horizontal.

I also have real trouble with propsheet with the CTWM window manager:
occasionally the control panels come up in a minute form. I don't have
that problem with my version.

I have installed it in ~aarons/rclib on rsunx. To make it available
to try out do

	load ~aarons/rclib/rclib.p

That extends the search lists. Then try

	TEACH RCLIB_DEMO.P

That's a compilable file full of tutorial examples. It uses objectclass,
and rc_graphic so starting up can take a while, though you can
create a saved image if necessary.

A demonstration of propsheet like facilites involving sliders, radio
buttons, "someof" buttons, to control a graphic drawing package can
be found if you do
	SHOWLIB RC_POLYPANEL

It is presented as an executable tutorial.

Then compile it and run it with
	rc_poly();

Play with the various buttons and sliders to make pretty pictures, etc.

You'll see that it is very easy to specify fonts, colours, etc. at the
level of Pop-11 instead of having to use the unpleasant X conventions.

I have made it entirely independent of motif, so it could be a basis
for Poplog on Linux without motif, if we can find a way to link Poplog
so that it runs rc_graphic without requiring motif libraries, which
surely must be possible.

The package is steadily growing. The news file is
	HELP RCLIB_NEWS

The overview file is
	HELP RCLIB

I still have some updating of documentation to do, to accommodate
some of the most recent changes.

I've created a saved image with a graphical version of a SHRDLU-like
"natural language" program which you can run as

	pop11 +~aarons/gblocks.psv

Add %x if you want it to use Xved

Type "help" in the editor window for instructions.

The latest version is normally available from Birmingham by ftp at

	ftp://ftp.cs.bham.ac.uk/pub/dist/poplog/rctar.gz

(I've just copied this over to Sussex.)

Comments and suggestions welcome. I am still working on extending
and improving the "language" understood by rc_control panel for
describing both the layout and the behaviour of the panel.

Cheers.
