Thank you very much for that.  I haven't tried it yet, because it's late
here downunder and I've got to get away from the keyboard and get the
symbols out of my head.  The solution sounds right.  If you don't hear
from me, no news is good news.
 
And thanks for the offer of MLB, but I don't think I'll be taking it up.
I use lib connect for just a smidgeon of connectionism with the first years.
In the second year sequel, which is still relatively low key, I use
BRAINWAVE, which was developed at the Uni of Queensland by Simon Dennis
and Devin McCauley when they were mere graduate students.  Do have a look
at it.  I think it's impressive, and it's a good teaching tool, partly
because it's so colourful.  It's web based:

They've also implemented a second version that has the code embedded in
the text.  I don't like it so much.  See
