The free demonstration copy of Linux Poplog available at
ftp://ftp.cogs.susx.ac.uk/pub/poplog/poplog15.0
has been upgraded to Version 15.01 (but note no change in the URL). This
is based on the standard Poplog 15.01 release now available from ISL.
The main change from 15.0 is that the Pop-11 compiler, when run in
default mode, will no longer print a warning about use of the "vars"
statement inside a procedure. This change was made as a response to
recent discussions on this newsgroup.
The new version also includes an important bug fix to LIB UNIX_SOCKETS
and we've taken the opportunity to include LIB RC_GRAPHIC in the startup
image to make it usable without the need for an external load.
Full instructions for copying, installing and running Poplog can be
found in:
ftp://ftp.cogs.susx.ac.uk/pub/poplog/poplog15.0/README
If you already have a Version 15.0, there is little point in moving to
15.01 unless any of the advertised changes are important to you. If you
do obtain the new version, remember that it is a complete installation
and should replace your existing 15.0. There is no patch mechanism to
upgrade from 15.0 to 15.01.
