I'm in the position to buy a Linux for my project's PC in order to use
Poplog, but the question is which Linux?
Redhat have a fairly good looking release, but their image and library
format is ELF. I think the Slackware release uses a.out but I'm not sure.
I'm told that the current Linux Poplog uses a.out format. ELF does seem to
be the up-and-coming format though - so can ISL tell us what the plans are
for an ELF format as that may be the better long term solution (or is ELF
just a fad)?
The difference between the formats is that ELF uses shared libraries but
a.out places everything in the image. This explains Aaron's problem:

I.e. enough Motif was linked into the image to run propsheet, but
something is missing that rc_graphic needs.
With ELF shared libraries people would have to acquire their own Motif to
run anything but Vanilla Poplog.
As far as I know....
