Subject:Some CHM files for Windows Poplog users
From:Aaron Sloman
Volume-ID:1030615.01

Michael Malien in Flensburg Germany has been doing some things with
poplog documentation that could be useful for windows poplog users,
which he will announce later.

In particular he has convered the Pop-11 primer available here

    http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/poplog/primer/
    http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/poplog/pophtmlprimer.tar.gz

to a format that is convenient for windows users (CHM format: Compiled
HTML format, apparently unreadable except on windows machines).

The CHM version is available here, and like the other versions,
may be freely copied:
    http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/poplog/pophtmlprimer2.chm

I had never heard of CHM until Michale wrote to me. For others in a
similar state of ignorance the CHM file format is described at
http://www.techscribe.co.uk/techw/compiled_html.htm
and also at:
    http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/xp/two/admd03.htm

Unfortunately the CHM version of the book is not viewable on any
non-microsoft platforms (unless someone can refer me to a chm
file-browser that works on unix/solaris/linux).
