Subject:recommended route from river2 to NEWPSYS

Up till the end of river2, the new learner has full control and understanding
of all new concepts, and code with it's resulting output.

Naturally one would like to use the familiarity of the river2 model
to learn about production systems.

Although the designed depth-first and breadth-first demo (NEWPSYS)
amply demonstrate such methods, the 'control and understanding' down
to the code level is lost.

It is seen that the well proven method of successive refinement is used
via: 1: PSYS -> 2: PRODSYS -> 3: NEWPSYS , to build up to NEWPSYS.
But only re. concepts.

Up to river2, one has the 3 coordinated elements:
new concept, corresponding code, corresponding output.

So are there 'canned simple' lists to exercise for PSYS and PRODSYS,
to allow the surging ahead which was possible up to river2 ?
Or does the learner need to deviate to invent own lists ?

Perhaps detailed understanding of newpsys.p is not intended at this
level ?
