Yes - they are more than fast enough for small databases. (It is true
that Pop11 properties are a lot faster, of course, but they are a far
more specialized representation. It depends on your needs.)
If you want to use PostgreSQL you are welcome to use the library I've
developed with Graham Higgins for working with PostgreSQL. It's part of
a larger scale project and is something of work-in-progress but it does
the job. Or you can simply use lib odbc if you are prepared to set
PostgreSQL up as an ODBC source.
