The link would have to be
    libtermcap.so

Try that and see if it works.

On my redhat machine I have

    ls -l /usr/lib/libtermcap*

-rw-r--r-- 1 root 11524 Jun 23 2002 /usr/lib/libtermcap.a
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root           29 Jun 18 19:05 /usr/lib/libtermcap.so -> ../../lib/libtermcap.so.2.0.8

Try to set up a corresponding link and see if running the
installation works, i.e., as root, something like

    ln -s ../../lib/libtermcap.so.2 /usr/lib/libtermcap.so

Someone else was trying to install poplog on madrake 9.2 yesterday
and had obscure problems that I could not sort out, but we found a
way to complete the installation. Maybe getting the libtermcap.so
link right will solve your problem.

You'll also need these, if you want to use the graphical tools:

    /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so
    /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so
    /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so

If they are not there, but you have versions like libX11.so.6
then again you may find that installing the links will work.

If you want to use the motif facilities in poplog you'll also need
    /usr/X11R6/lib/libXm.so

(or libXm.so.2 or libXm.so.3)

Please let us know how you get on.
