I sometimes find it useful to be able to see two files at once, for
instance if I am cribbing some text or program code from one to put into
the other.  But if you are just using ved to read documentation, rather
than as an editor, that wouldn't apply.

Aha. Neat. I'd never done that.  I hardly ever use xved.  Thank you.

You can get that effect with ENTER-h <word>, but then you have to type
the word.  You could work out a series of steps that get the current
word in your cut buffer and dump it out again on the command line.  Then
you could bind the whole sequence to a key.  Looks like a useful
exercise.
