I've added this to my list of slogans which should be tattooed on
the foreheads of software developers. (Mirror-writing, so they see
it every time they look in a mirror?)

This group is appropriate for pop-11.
AI is not (I believe) directly in the charter, although most of the
people whose names I recognise posting here are (or were) interested
in AI, and probably would not object to AI discussion, even if not
directly related to pop11. So try it and see if anyone flames you!
Unfortunately, many obvious places to look for AI discussion (like
newsgroups) have drowned in irrelevant and uninformed postings. (Although
I gave up skimming them years ago, so don't claim contemporary
knowledge of them.) Moderated newsgroups (if you can find any that
interest you) could be ok.
Many of the mailing lists are very specialised and technical.
Discussion of how to implement AI algorithms in pop11 are on topic,
and ok, IMO.
So I think the best answer to your PS question is, "What kind of
discussion are you looking for?" And, perhaps, also "What kind of
AI do you want to discuss?"
