I am very puzzled by this. Other bash users have not had to do this.
Maybe gentoo is set up so that 'csh' is not in $PATH unless you run
tcsh.

Strange.

Many thanks for the information. I'll later investigate the install
scripts to see if I can avoid the problem you had.

If you feel like posting a note saying what you are using poplog for, I
expect others will be interested.
