I'm a little surprised at Aaron's question, and your answer, since
I thought it was very, very simple.

Specifically, (if any of you have access to a unix system)
I thought the mechanism was one line in /etc/crontab, (man cron)
running sendmail to post whatever it was you wanted posted, on the
date each month in which you wanted it posted. Why wouldn't that work??

(There are equivalent mechanisms for other OSes, too.)

I've forgotten (if I ever knew) how one posts directly to a newsgroup,
but since there is already a mail-news gateway (which I'm using now),
an ordinary mail message (sent by sendmail) ought to be ok.

As for the content of the FAQ, I won't repeat my initial list of
questions here, but I hope answers to the first four or five will
be included.
